PR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
Job Description
We are seeking a talented and dynamic PR Account Executive with a specialisation in Business-to-Business (B2B) Communications. As a PR Account Executive, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations campaigns for our B2B clients. You will work closely with clients to understand their business objectives, create compelling messaging, and implement effective PR strategies that elevate their brand visibility and reputation within the B2B marketplace. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, strategic thinking abilities and a deep understanding of B2B industries.
Overview of role
Client Relationships

Be a point of contact for B2B clients, building and maintaining strong relationships

Participate in regular client meetings

Understand clients' goals, objectives and their industry landscape

Help develop PR tactics aligned with their business objectives

Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, maintains consistency, and reflects key messaging

Collate call agendas and meeting notes
Media Relations

Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors and industry influencers
-
Pitch story ideas, news releases and thought leadership articles to secure media coverage
-
Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing timely reports to clients and internal teams
PR Planning and Execution

Help develop and implement PR plans targeting B2B audiences across a number of channels
-
Brainstorm wide-ranging creative ideas for PR campaigns
-
Create compelling messaging and positioning statements that resonate with B2B stakeholders
-
Identify key media outlets, industry influencers and thought leaders in the B2B space
-
Co-ordinate media interviews, press releases, by-line articles and other PR activities.

Write press releases, news stories, articles, case studies and product pieces
-
Pitch press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online, to interest them in covering their clients’ stories

Respond to phone calls and emails from journalists

Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople - in person or over the phone - and facilitate these meetings where appropriate

Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients

Track and measure the effectiveness of PR Campaigns using relevant metrics and analytics tools

Provide regular client reports highlights KPIs and campaign outcomes

Analyse media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and recommend activity adjustments .
Experience
-
6 months - 2 years’ proven experience in an agency specialising in B2B Communications
-
Experience of B2B consumer tech accounts
-
Strong understanding of B2B industries, target audience and media landscape.

An appetite to learn about current industry trends and applying them to your work
-
Experience of working in media relations including pitching to journalists and securing media coverage
-
Willingness to network and build extensive media relationships
-
Willingness to take on new challenges and contribute creative ideas
-
Excellent written and verbal communication
-
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise whilst maintaining attention to detail, particularly around reporting
-
Proficiency in using PR software, analytics tools and social media platforms

English language fluency: Excellent written and verbal articulacy

Copywriting skills: You need to be hot on spelling, grammar and proof-reading, as well as have a creative flair for producing engaging copy

Presentation skills: From communicating ideas to your team to presenting stories to journalists, you need to organise information in a succinct and interesting way to capture their attention

Strong interpersonal skills: Whether it’s over the phone, by email or in person, PR is all about people, so you need to be approachable, friendly and empathetic, and be able to relate to people on different levels within the agency, with clients and with the media

Excellent telephone manner: You will spend a lot of your time pitching stories to journalists, so you need to have the confidence to pick up the phone and speak to them and maintain a positive, friendly and upbeat tone

Time-keeping: You will often be working to tight media deadlines as well as meeting the demands and pressures of your team and clients, so you need to be able to work quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality

Multi-tasking: The ability to manage projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and prioritise tasks

Resilience: You need to be ballsy enough to pick up the phone to national journalists and resilient enough to handle criticism and rejection
